Hundreds of Andersen Corporation employees from around North America work to preserve and protect natural habitats
BAYPORT, Minn., June 5, 2018 – Renewal by Andersen, along with its parent company Andersen Corporation, celebrated its fifth annual Nature Preservation Day this June. The event kicked off on World Environment Day and was followed by ten days of volunteer activities across North America. Andersen also marked this volunteer celebration with a $20,000 grant to The Nature Conservancy to help develop a forest restoration and resiliency plan.
Nature Preservation Day is Andersen Corporation’s signature employee volunteer program focused on environmental education and hands-on learning to make the world a better place. Between June 5 and 15, more than 400 Andersen and Renewal by Andersen employees participated in volunteer activities to help restore and protect the natural environment.
In total, 22 Nature Preservation Day events were conducted, with each event hosting activities that met the needs of the local community where Andersen operates. Activities ranged from clearing invasive species to planting trees and flowers, to park and water cleanup.

Team Andersen of Garland, TX, cleans up Audubon Park. Team Renewal by Andersen of Chicago, IL, helped with prairie restoration and planting new prairie grass. Team Andersen Luray, VA, was up for the challenge of rebuilding a greenway rain garden and cleaning up the river from early spring floods. Team Andersen Strathroy, Ontario, removes garlic mustard plants at St. Clair Region Conservation Authority. Team Andersen Lithia Springs, GA, worked on lake perimeter clean up with kayaks at Sweetwater Creek State Park. Team Renewal by Andersen Cottage Grove, MN, and Team Renewal by Andersen Roseville, MN, pooled resources to help work on an oak savanna restoration project. Team Andersen volunteers in Bayport, MN, worked hard at cutting sumac restore to restore an oak savanna! Team Andersen volunteers in North Brunswick, NJ, planted and weeded at the Rutgers Gardens. Hard at work hauling debris! Team Andersen North Brunswick, NJ, cleared 250 ft of invasive hedges at Duke Farms to restore the land to its appearance over 100 years ago. Team Andersen of Menomonie, WI, got their marching instructions as they prepare to get to work with the Lower Chippewa Invasives Partnership at a City of Menomonie park, removing invasive species.
