Renewal by Andersen of Kentucky helps restore ACS Hope Lodge in Lexington

Renewal by Andersen has been supporting the American Cancer Society (ACS) for seven years now. One of the key ways our teams support the ACS is by assisting with the renovation of Hope Lodges across the country.

This April, RbA of Kentucky stepped up to the plate and replaced 46 windows at the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Lexington, KY as part of a larger renovation effort designed to bring comfort and care to the many cancer patients and families who stay there during treatment.

The Lexington Hope Lodge offers free lodging to cancer patients undergoing treatment at the University of Kentucky’s Markey Cancer Center and other local hospitals. With 32 guest rooms, shared kitchens, and welcoming gathering spaces, it’s a “home away from home” built on compassion and community. For guests like Courtney, a schoolteacher, these shared spaces have become a place of solace. “It’s a blessing, for sure. It’s home away from home,” she shared.

The old aluminum windows at Hope Lodge were decades-old, drafty, and nearly impossible to open. The RbA of Kentucky team was able to provide energy-efficient, easy-to-open replacements that offer more than just technical benefits.

This initiative is part of our Renewal Cares initiative – an ongoing effort to give back to the communities where we live and work. By taking care of Hope Lodge’s window replacements, we’ve eased the financial burden of renovations, allowing their team to focus on other essential upgrades for the future.

Jason Young, Hope Lodge’s General Manager, summed it up perfectly. “It's going to be a huge face lift that can bring new energy into the building, and it's an immediate impact for our guests, which is most important to me.”
