Renewal by Andersen of British Columbia Supports Leukemia-Lymphoma Society
The location came together to support a teammate who is battling cancer
Recently, the RbA of British Columbia team rallied to support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Canada’s annual Visionaries campaign, raising funds in honor of a team member currently battling blood cancer.
The campaign was a resounding success, with RbA of British Columbia raising a commendable $13,822, contributing to the Visionaries campaign total of $175,336.
“It hit home for a lot of our employees. Not only because one of our own was going through a blood cancer experience, but because cancer in any of its forms has had an impact in some way on our entire team," says Ashley Wiglesworth, the associate director of marketing for the Dunn Group and the Renewal Cares ambassador for RbA of British Columbia and RbA of Alaska.
The team rallied behind the cause by using their own fundraising pages and reaching out to their families and communities for support. Additionally, RbA of British Columbia promoted the campaign on social media and spread the word to their existing homeowners via email. Thanks to their network of support, the team quickly surpassed their initial campaign goal of $10,000, prompting them to raise the bar.
The fundraising efforts culminated in a cocktail-mixing class, adding a celebratory and engaging twist to the campaign while also raising additional funds. This event was the cherry on top of a month-long effort that included various activities to engage the community and boost donations. Some of the team also attended the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of Canada’s awards gala at the end of the initiative in support of the Visionaries campaign.
This initiative is a testament to the power of community and the impact of collective efforts. RbA of British Columbia not only supports its own but also sets a remarkable example of empathy and action within the RbA retail network.
